Jordan Wilson, CFP®
President & CEO
After earning his degree in civil engineering and settling into his career with Bechtel Corporation, Jordan soon witnessed a family moment that changed everything for him and defined his career purpose. He saw his grandfather struggle financially in retirement. He had no plan and was sold investments that didn’t match his goals, needs or risk tolerance. This led to investment losses and running out of money. After a successful career, his grandfather was forced to rely on his children, and the financial stress this caused strained family relationships with impacts still felt today. Jordan saw that the financial hardship was completely avoidable, and re-dedicated his career to making sure that it would never happen to others. Combining compassion with engineering, Jordan became a comprehensive financial planner, working to put together all the pieces of a retirement plan.
Applying his civil engineering education and work experience, Jordan knows that numbers matter in financial planning.
“Everything can be measured,” says Jordan. “As a former engineer, I enjoy working with numbers and I show clients if the numbers add up, or if they don’t. It’s that simple.”
Jordan’s analytical and detailed background, combined with the family experience that moved him into the financial services industry, motivates him every day to provide the best service to his clients to help them achieve their ideal retirement.
Jordan lives with his wife, Tara, in Ellicott City, Maryland, where they are raising their two children, Ava and Carmella, along with a beautiful 10-year-old Golden Retriever, Jade, they consider their very first child — you may actually meet Jade as she is a frequent visitor to the Blueprint offices and serves as an ambassador and friend.
Away from the office, Jordan enjoys traveling, playing golf, and rooting for Penn State Football and the University of Maryland Basketball. Jordan himself played Division I baseball during college as a Maryland Terrapin.
